Cleaning the house for your mom is a great idea! My son is going to wash my car for me and I think that is a wonderful gift! Another idea is to create a coupon book with a couple of small jobs that you will do for her in the future. Free printable for this can be found at http://activitiesforkids.com/holidays/mothers-day. Other ideas, a mother’s day banner or flower bouquet.

May 3, 2010 at 4:22 pm
(21) Megan says:

What I did 2 mother’s days ago was make a video of things my mom says and translations. I called them Momisms. My brother, sister and I took turns being the questioner asking the “doctor (me)” what they meant and then the “doctor/psycologist” would explain them. I put them together with comercials for her other gifts we got her (advertise book or CD) and made a whole movie about it. She loved it so much.

Then for the next mother’s day, since she lost the first DVD, I made a “Platinum Edition” where all the effects were nicer and titles were right and it was really professonal instead of thrown together. I also recorded myself singing some of her favorite songs.

She really liked those. Just a few suggestions.

I am making my step-mum a nice breakfast-in-bed, then give her the presents i made and bought, then taking here to the cinema to see a film she really wants to watch, after that i am taking her out for a meal in a buffet she loves.

The things i have made for her are :

A no.1 mum certifecate.
A poem.
A portrate of her.
A thought box (she puts her hand in and pull out little notes saying “i love you” and “i hope you stay for ever”).
A picture of me, her and my dad.
Two little notes.
A card.
A small banner.
And i am trying to think of more ideas.

The things i have bought are:

A razer.

The things i have bought are her favourite of things she wanted.

I am thing on putting all her favourite songs on a CD and giving it to her.

I just want this day to be as special as possible. It is the first mother’s day with her.

I hope she loves it all.

If you have any more ideas that i could do to improve the day, please let me know.

(40) Keith says:

Learn how to speak and Write English that would be a great way of thanking your mom for putting you illiterate ass on the face of the earth :-)

May 2, 2011 at 10:06 am
(41) Kazzhhaaaa says:

Mother’s day is soon, but I don’t really know what to do! I got a cake that me, my brother, and myself are decorating, but I want to do something original. I wish I could take her somewhere but the thing is, I can’t drive. So it would spoil the whole idea (if i had one) if i took her somewhere because she would see it.

Poems are to boring, so I won’t do that.
Songs are too hard to make up, so no to that too.

I was thinking to go around the neighborhood to find some wildflowers.
And I was thinking about doing the thought box someone said earlier(I hope you don’t mind me using it).
Maybe I could make a spa place out of the garage, and do cycles of things like nail polish, and scrubs, stuff like that.

May 2, 2011 at 10:43 pm
(42) Maddie says:

All you have to do for your mom is give them love and tell them you love them! Also make something that is meaningful :) moms love things you make them and when they hear you say “i love you thank you for eveything”

From Willa, May 8, 2010: “I believe the best present most of you could give to your mother is to learn to use the english language correctly. Please learn to spell and type in complete sentences. Your mothers will love it!”

Super advice Willa. However, right after you eat crow, you might want to check your own grammer. “english” is “English” in my part of the world.

May 4, 2011 at 3:02 pm
(44) Kay says:

Best thing we ever did for our mom, was to all five of us put down on separate pieces of paper about 10 different things we learned, loved, about our. Ex: Thanks Mom for making my wedding dress and all the hours you put into . Ex: Thanks Mom for paying my missed car notes while I was in College and keeping the information from Dad for so many years, until I was in the clear!

Our mom takes out one just about everyday and re-reads. There were 5 of us and we each did about 5 – 10 each.

Mike, before you criticize Willa, you might want to look in the mirror. “Grammer” is spelled grammar in my part of the world. No one is perfect, Mike.

(46) noneofyourbusiness says:

Wow, you people dont even know how to spell breakfast.
Not breckfest, or breakfeast, or breathfast, or breckfist. I mean come on people. Really? It’s BREAKFAST for crying out loud!

May 6, 2011 at 2:46 pm
(47) arrianna says:

What I don’t understand is why there are so many people on here making comments about how people spell. We don’t know how old anyone is that is leaving comments. Even if their spelling and grammar is poor who are we to judge. People on here love their mom and they are wanting ideas for Mother’s Day. Why can’t we just give them an idea if we have one? I think it is wonderful that people are asking others for help. It shows that they care enough to try to do something special for their mom.

May 6, 2011 at 8:54 pm

This is pathetic !! if you even question the spelling of a word….look it up!! “Mather’s Day” “Cleen” “Copon” and my personal favorite “Brick Fist” are just a few and i am sure that there are more f*cking funny typos hidden finely in these posts.

Try pronouncing these words as they are written and you will TRULY sound like an IMMIGRANT

(74) Marina says:

10 things to do on Mothers Day:
1- What is most common is to make her a nice three course meal, i totally say that.
2- Get her a bouqet of flowers that she likes most.
3- If you think you can get ur mum an outfit she will love then definitely do that.(make sure you know her sense of style)
4- Make a card( you should think out the box) try adding kissy lips: simply add lip goss/lipstick to your mouth and kiss the paper, revealing cute kissy lips.Spray on perfume and leave it to dry. You know have a nice smelling card.
5- Get her a nice ring, get a fine quality like diamonds, they will show your mom how much you love her.
6- Do a nice poster: get out any colors youve got and you can even buy some. Get creative with it!!!!
7- Write a nice poem for her and recite it with expression.
8- Dont go too hyper on mothers day, and if u arent the kind that would clean the house, the least you can do is keep your room and kitchen(if you’re cooking anything for your mom) clean.
9- Pick some nice pictures of your family and do an album (dont forget to decorate it well!!!!!!!) If you have lots of pictures on your laptop, try making a crative powerpoint with little phrases describing each photo.
10- If your mom, bless her heart is dead or deceased visit her/her grave and give her a bouqet of flowers and recite a poem. To all of you people whose moms are dead, i wish u the best in your life and may god bless you and your mom.Always remeber your mom still lives in your heart and will never die.
