Nothing beats a day at the beach. An inexpensive, fun day for the family, a great place for friends to hang out, or someplace to go by yourself, enjoy the sun and read a good book. Here in Central Florida, we are fortunate to have several options when it comes to beaches.

What about:
Fly a kite. It can be as mundane a kite as a diamond kite, a delta, or a box kite … but what about parafoils and steerable kites … or even kite surfing.
Wind surf. Look for a wind surfing school and take lessons. They wil provide the equipement and the training.
Digging for clams. Find out where there are good clamming beaches in your area – but find out about license requirements, first.
Bike riding. Many beaches have bike paths and boardwalks where bike riding is allowed – even encouraged. If you don’t have a bike, look for places to rent them. A bicycle-built-for-two makes for some romantic time with your loved one.
If local ordinances allow it, build a fire at night on the beach and roast hot dogs and marshmallows with a bunch of friends.
I’m sure that there are more suggestions that can be made — instead of just complaining. Remember that if you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem. Use your imagination – it’s a major reason why you have been born with a brain. (You *where* born with a brain, weren’t you?)
