Halloween Horror Nights has long since jumped-the-shark folks.

Let me explain…

Imagine a continuous line of people walking single file through a haunted house where each scary character jumping out with a ‘boo’ is visually evident further up the line of folks ahead of you. You will see the scary character ‘boo’ routine multiple times before you yourself get the scary character ‘boo’. Yes, it borders on the ridiculous.

It is amazing to me how easily duped the main stream media (msm) are as they get a ‘special’ run through the haunted houses, in stark contrast to the experience that I have noted above, hence the GREAT reviews that msm have of their Halloween Horror Nights experience.

Parents Beware: Note that there is an unreal amount of alcohol being consumed within the park, booze carts are every corner and a hoard of scantly clad girlies hocking jello-shots within giant hypodermic needles, which struck me as not a good mixture given the crowd is so young. Also note that the Vampire Haunted House borders on the pornographic, as the leather shot clan young man with bondage hands tied back on a bed is ravaged by a young vampire girl in sheer bondage-porno style.

Here is where this night has an upside; you will never get a chance all year to run through such short lines at these parks as on this night. Arrive early for the haunted houses or selectively choose one or two haunted houses and then spend your time at the shows after the rides.

As a fan of HHN and someone who has gone for six years consecutively, allow me to give you some advice: buy the scream pass. It costs as much, if not more than, the ticket to get in but completely worth it. While others have to choose one to two houses to visit as mentioned above, you can do all 8 houses, the shows, and all of the open rides before ending the night. I can’t imagine doing HHN without the pass. It has to be miserable.

Well first of all I’ve also attended HHN almost every year since I was 13. I am 22 now and decided to take my family (mom and younger sisters) to show them how neat and sometimes scary it was…this year was a joke. Yes the lines for the rides are WAY shorter than usual but it didnt feel like HHN at all!
our first bad experience was waiting for jack’s carnival of carnage show for aout an hour and fifteen minutes untill finally the “media” arrived and they could dtart. we, along with a hundered other people, were pretty mad and wasted an hour that we could’ve used in the park.
This year there is ONE scare zone and … not so scary… haunted houses …ah they were okay, my favorite was friday the 13th but then again we didnt get to go through all even with our fast passes.
BEST OF ALL:the rocky horror picture show tribute….it was GREAT. oh and the turkey legs :)

This year HHR is the worst thatn ever. Ridiculious lines, too expensive, We are family, and we made a lot of sacrificies to go and it is unfair, that people with fast passes go more that 4 times, and I feel miserable waiting just for one time. Parking is a disaster, waiting 45 minutes to an hour to get out the Universal Studios parking lot, and paying for that $11 full price. That will be my last time. People drunk all over the park, selling alcohol without asking for a ID. Government please verify what is going with this business. Thank you,

A group of us have been going to HHN for thirteen years. Last year was bad but we decided to give it one more shot. This year is so much worse!! We left by 10 pm we were so disgusted. The only haunted house we went into took an hour to get into and it was only two minutes long with no one scaring anyone. There was no one walking down the streets scaring you either. Normally in Amity they have fog and scary clowns and that was missing as well. I am totally convinced that the only thing Universal cared about this year was selling as many tickets and fast passes as possible without hiring anyone to work in the park. There were so many people in the fast pass lines that us regular people waited twice as long for the haunted houses. None of us will be back next year. I do have to recommend Busch Gardens. We went to Howl O Scream the week before and it blows HHN away!!!
