Farewell to Pleasure Island

The six nightclubs at Walt Disney World's entertainment complex, Pleasure Island will be closing their doors September 27, 2008. As part of the Downtown Disney area, Pleasure Island has provided nighttime entertainment to tourists as well as locals since it opened in 1989. Centrally located between Disney's West Side and the Marketplace, Disney imagineers plan on revamping the six acre area of Pleasure Island over the next couple of years to create a more family-friendly entertainment center.
