A Culinary Tour of Italy

Wednesday July 9, 2008
Explore and experience the the diverse flavors of Italy’s 20 regions without leaving Florida. Each month Rocco's Italian Grille and Bar in Winter Park will spotlight a different region of Italy, showcasing classic flavors unique to that area. Featured appetizers, main courses and desserts will promote "The Classic Flavors of Italia."

July focuses on the cuisine of Puglia, the region in the “heel” of Italy’s “boot.” Featured menu items include cozze ripiene (stuffed mussels); strascinate con cime di rape (orechiette tossed with broccolini and mild Italian sausage); zuppa di pesce (seafood stew); agnello alla Pugliese (free-range rack of lamb), and fior di latte con mandorle zuccherato, (milk gelato served with toasted sugared almonds and finished with a rich chocolate sauce).

As one of the Orlando area's top Italian Restaurants, Rocco's, opened in 2006, has two major local dining awards: Critic’s Choice, as “Best Italian” in the 2007 Orlando Sentinel Foodie Awards and AOL 2007 Digital City’s “Best Italian” restaurant in the Orlando area.
