Rainfall From Tropical Storm Fay
Friday August 22, 2008
It seems that Fay just won't go away! The flooding continues in the Orlando area as Tropical Storm Fay makes it's way across the state - again. Three days of consecutive rainfall has dumped up to 25 inches of rain in some areas of the state, mainly the north-east coast. As of Thursday evening, Central Florida had an average of 12 inches of rain in roughly 24 hours. Rainfall figures.
In addition to the obvious issues from that much rain in such a short time, a multitude of other problems are caused:
- Unexpected-unpaid time off
- Kids out of school for three days
- Thousands without electric
- Businesses closed
