Come Celebrate the Season at Orlando's premiere holiday event, the Annual Festival of Trees from Saturday, November 15, through Sunday, November 23, 2008. For nine magical days, the Orlando Museum of Art (OMA) is transformed into a glittering holiday wonderland where trees, wreaths and gingerbread houses ignite holiday spirit. Presented by the Council of 101 to benefit the OMA, the Festival of Trees is sure to delight every family member.
A collection of exquisite trees, full-scale holiday vignettes and gingerbread creations, all decorated by local designers, are at the heart of this enchanting event. Decorated wreaths and smaller trees are displayed in the Deck the Halls area. Local culinary artists exhibit their talents in the Gingerbread Village. Art on the Wall showcases original artworks by Central Florida artists. Every tree, wreath and gingerbread house is available for purchase.
Surrounding the special displays you will find Candyland, where children can play games, make crafts, email Santa at the town post office. Guests can purchase holiday gifts and decorative accessories in the Holiday Boutique or get a bite to eat in the Festival Cafe. In addition, there is daily entertainment featuring a wide array of talent and holiday spirit, ranging from appearances by Santa Claus, choir performances and other special events.
The nine-day Festival of Trees is packed with special events beginning with the elegant opening party, Patron's Gala, an elite black tie affair on Friday, November 14th. Children have an evening of their own at Reindeer Romp. The ever-popular Holiday Jazz Stroll will take place on the final Friday of the event. Please call the museum to confirm the dates, times and prices for these special events.
General admission to the Festival of Trees is $10 for adults and $6 for children. Seniors receive $1 off admission on Senior's Day, Tuesday, November 18th. Parking is $3. Daily hours are from 10am to 5pm.
