La Nouba

By , About.com Guide

Downtown Disney's West Side has been the permanent home to La Nouba since 1998. La Nouba, which roughly translates to "The Party" is an international party with over 70 performers from 10 different countries. These athletes, circus performers, musicians and actors come from such diverse countries as Russia, China, Canada, Brazil and Poland.

The grand sculpted white circus tent is nestled in at the far end of Disney's West Side with the likes of Disney Quest on one side and the House of Blues on the other. Since it's opening, it has attracted both locals and tourists alike, thrilling them with its dreamlike essence. Borrowing from the surrealism you would find in Salvador Dali painting, where the dreams mix with reality, where stunts and illusions leave the viewer dazzled and amazed.

A circus without the elephants, lions, tigers or a ringmaster, La Nouba is truly a party of the imagination. The cast blends more than 70 extraordinary performers, an original musical score, colorful costumes, surreal sets and energetic choreography into an unforgettable 90-minute production into its 1,671-seat theater at Downtown Disney West Side.
