How To Florida Voter Registration

Get ready for the upcoming elections. Register to vote now! Remember that you must register to vote 29 days prior to any upcoming election.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 15 minutes

Here's How:

  1. Do you meet the following criteria? You must also be a U.S. citizen and a Florida resident who is at least 18 years old, unless you are pre-registering, in which case you must be 17.

  2. In addition to meeting the above criteria, you may not be mentally incapacitated with respect to voting or have ever been convicted of a felony, without your civil rights being restored.

  3. You can get a Florida Voter Registration Application at any county's Supervisor of Elections office, Public Libraries, Dept of Motor Vehicles, Armed Forces Recruitment offices, select Post Offices.

  4. To avoid applying in person, you can fill out the on-line application form from the Florida DOS, Division of Elections. But, be aware that it will take longer to actually receive your card.

  5. Just remember, you may not claim the right to vote in another state or county.

Tips:

  1. Register early! Don't forget that you must be registered to vote at least 29 days prior to the election that you wish to vote in.
  2. Not sure where you should go to vote? Your county polling place will be listed on your voter id card.
  3. Save yourself some time, register to vote while applying for - or updating your driver license.
