Orlando's fastest, longest, tallest and only floorless roller coaster made it's debut June 1, 2000, at SeaWorld Orlando. Unlike traditional floorless coasters where the seats are suspended from a track above, Kraken provides a pedestal type of seat, allowing you to sit positioned high above the track, with nothing over your head but the sky, or ground, depending where you are at in the ride.
Passengers are placed in open-sided seats with only shoulder restraints to hold them in. Feet, arms, flip flops, glasses and pocket contents fall freely during the ride. You may want to consider renting a .50 locker near the entrance of the ride to hold your valuables. Please note that you must be 54 inches tall to ride.
Normally I would not attempt a ride such as this, but I figured since I was there, the line was short, and my kids were begging me, that I would give it a try. Looking back on it now, I would have to say it was an exciting ride, but my vote for favorite Sea World ride would have to go to Journey to Atlantis.
