For most of us, the Mystery of China refers to a time long ago in a distant land. Florida's Splendid China in Orlando, offers those who will not soon be making the 10,000 mile scenic journey of China's landmarks, a glimpse into 5,000 years of Chinese culture.

As you meander along the paths throughout the 76 acre park, the mystery of China is represented through 60 replicas that symbolize some of China's most important historic temples, stone carvings and wonders of nature. While most of the replicas are depicted at around 1/10 scale of the originals, the intricate detail and symbolism remain intact.

The first difference that you will notice from other area attractions is the free parking.

After being greeted by a giant Buddha, your journey begins at Suzhou Street, with shops, restaurants and even a lovely Koi pond where you can feed the goldfish. The scenic walkways and ponds that represent China around 1300 AD, make for a nice photo backdrop.

As you pass through the turn-styles, be sure to obtain a park map. Winding paths throughout the Chinese Gardens, intended to provide an artistic experience and feeling of serenity, can also confuse a hot weary traveler.

For guests who would like to learn more about the exhibits, a guided golf cart tour can be scheduled.

Some of the park highlights include:
Splendid China's largest exhibit is a reproduction of the 4,200 mile Great Wall of China. This exhibit was reproduced using over 6,500,000 1x2 inch bricks. Measuring between three to five feet tall, the wall spans a full half mile as it weaves throughout the park.

The amazing discovery of the Terra Cotta Warriors which were uncovered in 1974 is displayed in a dimly lit cave, as the original excavation site appeared. Full sized warriors are on guard at the entrance of the cave.

Beijing's Forbidden City, built in 1420, in it's scaled down version still shows the power and grandeur of the original with it's 9,999 room centerpiece, originally built in 1420.
