Planning Your Wedding

The Reception

By , About.com Guide

In addition to local Banquet Facilities, many area Country Clubs have beautifully decorated restaurants and banquet rooms for hosting a reception. Estimate the approximate number of guests that you will be having, then determine the location that will best accommodate that number.

If you happen to have a friend or relative that lives on one of our beautiful Florida lakes, you may have just found an additional alternative to a reception hall. Be advised, this may not always be the most cost efficient option. Before considering this option, be sure to total all the extras that may be needed. Rentals & Supply vendors can provide tents, tables & chairs, dishes and even dance floors for your reception.

By selecting a reception site that does not offer Catering or one that allows you to provide your own, you may save money and have more flexibility with your menu choices. A less expensive option to an open bar would be to provide your own beverages. A large bowl filled with chipped ice can contain a nice selection of colas, sparkling water, and beer bottles. Another alternative would be a punch bowl, with any one of the recipes provided by our cocktail's guide.

Whether you are looking to dance, be entertained or just have quiet background music, you should consider hiring a Disc Jockey, a Band or other form of Live Music.
