Brand new spacious villas, an award winning golf course and convenience to Orlando's attractions, makes the Wyndham Palms Resort and County Club a popular destination for Orlando visitors.

Set on 600 acres just off of busy US 192, this gated resort is geared to the vacation ownership market, but does rent villas on a space available basis. If first impressions are the most important, the main entrance with its fountains and impressive tropical landscaping, sends the message that you are entering a world-class resort.

The sprawling resort includes rolling hills (rare in central Florida) and meticulously manicured grounds. Here you will find 427 one, two and three bedroom villas sleeping 4, 8 and 12 respectively. The resort's popularity is evident as construction crews put the finishing touches on an additional 128 villas, which will bring the total number of villas to 555.

Mystic Dunes Golf Club
Besides its convenient location, the main draw of the resort is its golf course, Mystic Dunes. Designed by NBC golf analyst and PGA Tour player Gary Koch, Mystic Dunes has been rated as one of Florida's premier golf courses. Amenities on the par 71, 7,012-yard course, include the ParView GPS System, driving range, putting and chipping greens, a 20,000-sq. ft. clubhouse with restaurant and 3,000-sq. ft. Pro Shop.

Mystic Dune's signature hole is the extremely challenging par three, #11, which features a waterfall. Although this is the only hole where water comes into play, the 36 bunkers, two lakes and 419 acres of rough, are sure to challenge any golfer. The front nine is designed to replicate classic Carolina-style courses and the back nine mirrors a typical British Isles course. To give an idea of the cost to tee up, two rounds were recently priced at $95; and three rounds at $125, making Mystic Dunes very affordable. If unlimited golf sounds good to your ears, on Mondays through Thursdays during certain times of the year, you get all the golf you can play in a day and your choice of a lunch sandwich for $55. Call the Mystic Dunes Golf Club at 866/311-1234 for updated prices and information.

Villas, Activities & Dining
Each villa at Wyndham Palms Resort and County Club includes a fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, cable television with VCR, private whirlpool bath in the master bedroom, in-room safe and dining/breakfast area. Some of the multi-bedroom units are even equipped with large screen televisions. For someone who is never stayed in a villa, make no mistake; these are not hotel rooms. These villas are basically fully furnished condominiums.

Swimming opportunities abound in the multiple pools located throughout the resort. There are heated pools, unheated pools and even specially equipped children's pools. Speaking of children, if you've got kids, there are many activities to keep them busy. You'll find a small playground, and 18-hole miniature golf course, and a variety of other supervised activities for children.

Just to give you an idea, here are just some of the many regularly scheduled activities, most of which are free or available at a nominal cost: Tuesdays at 1 p.m. finger painting in the activity area; Wednesdays at 11 a.m. kids turn pasta into art at Pasta Art; Thursdays at 6 p.m. there is the ping pong tournament; and Fridays at 2:30 there is the weekly family potato sack race. Children, as well as adults, can also "rent" bikes and use the lighted basketball and tennis courts, at no charge.

Villa rental costs vary depending on the time of the year, but recent prices quoted were: 1-bedroom, $195 per night; 1-bedroom deluxe, $235; 2-bedroom, $270; 3-bedroom, $340.
