Loaves and Fishes was created in 1984 when a need arose to help feed the victims of two devastating freezes. Area churches combined their resources to create Loaves and Fishes to help those less fortunate.
Loaves and Fishes is funded through churches, civic groups, and individual contributions. There are a number of churches that contribute to our agency in many different ways. Some churches offer volunteer services and monthly donations. Other churches hold food drives that help us keep their pantry full.
Services they Provide:
Loaves and Fishes offers clothing, baby items, toiletries, household items, medical needs, financial assistance, and a supplemental bag of food to help those families that are living on very little income and need a helping hand from week to week.Because they are not government funded, they are able to give Bibles to their clients and offer Bible Study classes.
Loaves and Fishes offers educational classes to help enrich the families' lives and future. These classes help to make the families self-sufficient and add integrity to their lives. Their classes are led by professional, caring individuals.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Volunteers work everyday at Loaves and Fishes helping others. They also have volunteers that work at home doing different kinds of jobs. You can become involved by calling or just stopping by when you have time to spare.
