Most stores have someone that can help you out, and keep in mind that old photos that were done in brown tones instead of pure black and white will be considered a color photo by these machines. Since the machines tend to break down quite a bit, always call the store first to make sure that they have machine and it is up and running. To complete the gift, put it in a unique frame, something that either matches the decor of the recipient or the character of the photo.
