Florida's general sales tax rate is 6%. However, Florida counties are authorized to levy a sales tax surcharge. Therefore the tax rate in each of the Central Florida counties is different.

Answer: As of February 2009 the following sales tax rates apply.
  • Lake County 7.00%
  • Orange County 6.50%
  • Polk County 7.00%
  • Osceola County 7.00%
  • Seminole County 7.00%
  • Volusia County 6.50%
  • Brevard County 6.00%
