Orlando, FL 32805
With seating for over 70,000, the Florida Citrus Bowl, located just West of Downtown Orlando is one of the largest stadium seating venues in the Central Florida area. When originally constructed in 1936 it contained seating for a mere 8,900 people. With a name change from the Orlando Stadium, the Florida Citrus Bowl has undergone multiple renovations which have increased it's size almost ten fold.
The Citrus Bowl had it's first annual bowl game in 1947 called the Tangerine Bowl. It is also the home fof the annual New Year's football classic, The Capital One Bowl. Over the years a multitude of Rock Stars have been hosted at the Florida Citrus Bowl, including The Rolling Stones, The Who, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney, Guns'n Roses, Billy Joel/Elton John and the Eagles. In 2008, WrestleMania XXIV was held at the Citrus Bowl, the first time this event was ever held in the state.
