-- DisneyHand, worldwide outreach for The Walt Disney Company, implemented the DisneyHand Operation Care (D.O.C.) program and the Walt Disney World Cast Member Hurricane Relief Fund. These efforts and others provided approximately $7.2 million in cash and in-kind donations to the community and Disney cast members who have been adversely impacted by Hurricanes Charley, Frances and Jeanne.
-- DisneyHand also contributed $75,000 to the American Red Cross and $50,000 to the Heart of Florida United Way.
-- Walt Disney World Co. is donating $25,000 to both the Central Florida FOCUS Fund and the Florida Hurricane Relief Fund. The Central Florida FOCUS Fund is a recovery fund of The Community Foundation of Central Florida. The Florida Hurricane Relief Fund, established by Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and managed by the Volunteer Florida Foundation, raises money to help Floridians recover from damage left by the hurricanes.
-- Disney Cruise Line quickly supplied disaster relief to the two ports of call that were hit -- Nassau and Grand Cayman. With the help of DisneyHand, Disney Cruise Line was able to allocate $25,000 of an overall DisneyHand donation of $75,000 to the American Red Cross to the Bahamas and Cayman Islands. In addition, the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder ships delivered flashlights and batteries, pallets of water, cases of non-perishable food, and mattresses, linens, pillows and blankets to the islands for the disaster relief efforts.
-- Walt Disney World Co. has conducted food drives with employees to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank, which provides food supplies to agencies throughout Central Florida.
-- Through DisneyHand's relationship with the Red Cross, more than 30,000 Mickey Mouse plush toys were distributed to children in local Florida shelters during the hurricanes.
-- Walt Disney World Co. has provided work crews to assist with the recovery effort throughout the local communities.
