CityWalk

Universal Orlando

By , About.com Guide

Universal Orlando's nighttime entertainment complex, CityWalk is an exciting mix of shopping, dining, dancing and entertainment, all situated on 30 acres adjacent to Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios.

Daytime fun can be found as well at CityWalk, as shopping venues are open daily along with many of the restaurants. Interesting storefronts beckon visitors inside to peruse the merchandise as they scurry to and from Universal's two theme parks. A 20-screen theater showing the newest releases can be found at the entrance to CityWalk.

In the evenings, CityWalk comes alive as the rhythmic beat of music pounds from high-tech speakers and neon lights illuminate figures dancing in the streets. Stiltwalkers, jugglers and street entertainers dazzle onlookers. Kiosk vendors, outdoor bars and cafes add to the excitement as guests leaving the parks filter into the many restaurants and clubs.

Street entertainment and shopping do not require an admission charge. Some clubs and bars do require a cover charge and have age restrictions. One night unlimited admission or one club admission can be purchased as well as an annual unlimited admission pass. Packages are also put together that include dinner and a movie for one low price at select restaurants. Garage and valet parking are available for a fee. After 9:00 there is no charge for garage parking.

Water taxis at CityWalk can take guests to and from the three premier on-site Loews hotels at Universal Orlando. Upscale Restaurants and bars can be found at the Royal Pacific Resort, Hard Rock and Portofino Bay Hotels. Monthly events including the popular monthly Velvet Sessions along with seasonal specials and entertainment are also held at the hotels.
