Don't be mislead, just because this Hyatt is in an airport doesn't mean it can't meet the usual Hyatt standards of luxury. It was first class all around. From its glass elevator in its impressive lobby atrium to its outdoor pool on the third floor, the Hyatt measured up. You won't be disappointed in the accommodations or the restaurants the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport has to offer.
Speaking of the pool, if you are an aviation enthusiast, it is a great place to view airport operations and hear the roar of the jet engines. (The pool was the only place you could hear the aircraft.) In addition, the view of the runways from the Hyatt's Hemispheres Restaurant is great. The restaurant also offers reasonably priced breakfasts and dinners.
The Hyatt caters to the business traveler, but its 446 rooms also host a number of leisure travelers as well. Families flying in to catch cruise ships at Cape Canaveral often arrive a day or two early and stay at the hotel, before heading out. (Orlando International Airport is located 60 minutes from the cruise ship terminal at Cape Canaveral on Floridas East Coast.) Tourists and families looking for unique vacations also stay at the Hyatt. The Hyatt is located 10 minutes from Sea World and Universal Studios and 20 Minutes from Disney World.
As far as conveniences, once you exit the hotels lobby you re-enter Orlando International Airport. There are all kinds of shops and restaurants to choose from literally within yards of the main lobby of the airport nearly 40 - think of it like a mini-mall. On the other hand, if your bags are packed and youve got a ticket to travel, you turn the other direction and you enter the security checkpoint and proceed toward the gate to catch your flight as convenient as it can get.
At the Hyatt it is 24 hour room service, wireless internet free of charge (yes for free), and an exercise room featuring Lifecycles, free weights and treadmills.
They've even made a special arrangement for parking. If you are staying at the Hyatt to catch that cruise ship or for that unique family vacation, the Hyatt has made special arrangements with airport parking to allow multiple re-entry and a reduced daily parking fee of $10 per day. When you check in at the front desk, if you inquire, you will be given certificates that allow for multiple exit/entry during the day. This allows you to visit theme parks, go out to eat, etc. and pay only one parking fee per day.
Room rates start at around $175, but can vary greatly depending on the time of the year. There are a variety of special promotions available including a Senior Rate (50% Discount), AAA (10% Discount), and even a Day Rate. With the Day Rate, you get the use of a room and all the propertys facilities between 10 a.m. 6 p.m. for $75. These promotions and rates may not be available at all times.
