“My Camera Speaks For Me”
October 13 - November 15, 2009
This retrospective exhibition of more than 35 photographs represents the most potent images of photographer Douglas Nesbitt. He captures the human condition and the world around us in this thought-provoking one-man-show featuring works chosen by the artist. During the exhibition’s run, there will be a panel discussion and a photography workshop.

“Maidens and Monsters--The Art of Science Fiction, Adventure and Fantasy”
November 24, 2009 - April 18, 2010
The unexpected, the eerie and the uncanny will be introduced in this fresh and surprising view of American illustration, highlighting some of the exotic adventures, fantastic fables and romantic encounters told in magazines and books published between 1914 and 1995. Drawn from the acclaimed Korshak Collection, the 50 original works feature 22 pioneering illustrators including N.C. Wyeth, J. Allen St. John, Frank R. Paul, Hannes Bok, Margaret Brundage and Frank Frazetta. During this exhibition there are lectures and gallery talks scheduled.

“The Bach Festival Society Celebrates 75 Years”
February 2 - April 25, 2010
Nine photographers’ capture the spirit of the Back Festival Society, its choir and orchestra, conductor John Sinclair and Rollins’ Knowles Chapel in a visual celebration of the country’s third oldest Bach Festival. The museum has partnered with the Winter Park Bach Festival Society for this special exhibit presented in the historic Polasek residence.

“The Bach Festival Society Celebrates 75 Years”
February 2 - April 25, 2010

The museum has partnered with the Winter Park Bach Festival Society for this special exhibit presented in the historic Polasek residence.

“Art in Bloom”
February 12 - 14, 2010
Featured are floral designs enhancing artwork found in the Polasek residence, created by members of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs District VII Flower Judges Council. Regular admission fees apply on February 12; admission is free February 13 and 14 as a part of ArtsFest.

“ArtsFest Weekend”
February 13 - 14, 2010, Saturday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Sunday 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Artists will be painting and sculpting in the gardens during United Arts of Central Florida’s ArtsFest weekend. Guided tours will take place during posted times. Admission is free.

“Decorated Eggs of Europe and America”
February 17 - April 4, 2010
Egg painting is known throughout most of Europe, where decorating eggs can be traced back at least 3,000 years. On display will be examples of this art form, including both traditional painted eggs called pysanky and hand-painted modern European and American interpretations.

“Winter Park Paint Out”
April 24 – May 1, 2010
Beginning on Saturday, April 24, twenty-six professional artists will paint outdoors (en plein air) depicting street scenes and idyllic views through-out the city of Winter Park for the annual spring “Winter Park Paint Out.” The artists have seven days to publicly create their works, which are then offered for sale as a fundraiser for the museum.

“Paint Out Celebration”
May 1, 2010, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
The “Paint Out” artists will be present at the museum’s annual fundraiser, where patrons will be able to purchase works created during the previous week. This ticketed garden party will feature spectacular artwork, heavy hors d’oeuvres, wine and beer. Call for pricing information.

“Museum Day”
September 26, 2009, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
A celebration of culture, learning and the dissemination of knowledge, Smithsonian Magazine’s “Museum Day” reflects the spirit of the magazine with free admission to participating institutions. Last year over 100,000 people visited museums on this day in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.

“Czech Independence Day”
October 28, 2009, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
In recognition of the creation of a free and independent Czechoslovakia in 1918, all visitors to the Museum will be admitted for free. Regularly scheduled docent tours will focus on Albin Polasek’s Czech influenced works. Refreshments will be served.

“Albin Polasek’s Birthday Celebration”
February 14, 2010, 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Apple strudel, kolache and Viennese coffee will be served on the patio during this celebration of Albin Polasek’s birthday. Refreshments are free as a part of ArtsFest.

“Good Friday”
April 2, 2010, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
The Polasek Museum is open free of charge with guided tours throughout the day.
