1. VISIT A MUSEUM
Educational as well as fun! The Orlando Science Center and the Orange County History Center are loaded with activities to occupy the kids for the entire day. A little more on the cultural side, the Orlando Museum of Art has a nice selection of American Portraits and Landscapes.Be sure to check out prices and special events for the current month.
2. GO TO THE LIBRARY
Orange County has 15 branches, Seminole has 5 branches. Check on-line to find a public library near you. Browse the shelves, find an old favorite to re-read or select something new. To get a library card, you need to be over 18 and have form of identification to verify your name and address.For children, most public libraries offer summer programs such as storytelling and summer reading incentives. Looking for magazines and used books for purchase? The Casselberry branch in Seminole County has a great little store located on the first floor that sells used books, magazines and old vinyl albums.
3. WANDER AROUND THE MALL
Browse through the stores, have a snack in the food court, most area shopping malls are completely enclosed and offer a low cost way to spend the afternoon.Have you visited Ikea yet? This is a great place to wander around for a few hours and with a very affordable restaurant that serves Swedish specialties and American favorites, you can stay for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
