Fiddler's Green

Casual Irish Pub in Winter Park

By Theresa Johnston, About.com

A little rustic and casual, but very authentic, Fiddler's Green Irish Pub is considered by many to be a Winter Park landmark. Oddly situated at the intersection where Fairbanks merges with Orange Avenue and crosses Pennsylvania this emerald green tavern is the meeting spot of locals and area business people. Though the pub has only been around since 1996, the weathered wood floors and aged photographs on the walls add to the homey feeling that keeps the regulars coming back. Evenings cater to the local Rollins crowd with an enthusiastic party atmosphere.

The menu is limited, but does serve up some hearty authentic Irish dishes including Corned Beef and Cabbage, Bangers and Mash and the ever popular Shepard's Pie. The restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner and on Sunday's for brunch.

Beer on tap is the main request here with almost two dozen varieties being offered. The 4 pm to 7 pm happy hour on Monday through Friday reduces the pint price by a buck. Live music Thursday through Saturday and special events -of course including St. Patrick's Day - add to the interest and popularity of the pub.
