Orlando Restaurant Week

Prix Fixe Menu Specials

By , About.com Guide

Orlando Restaurant Week gives you the opportunity to try out a few different restaurants at reasonable prices.  The Prix Fixe menus are offered for either $10, $15, $25 or $35 and generally include a choice of starters, main entrees and desserts.

A new format is being used for 2009. The four price points are for different menus - some lunch and some dinner. You have the opportunity to try out a restaurant for different priced menu offerings. For example Tastings, A Wine Experience is offering a prix fixe lunch menu for $10 that includes a soda, sandwich or pizza and a salad or soup. For dinner the price increases to $15 and includes a starter, main entree and dessert.

If you are like me and generally don’t include an appetizer and dessert with your entrée, the price of $25 or $35 might seem a little high. Though it will be interesting to see what is included on the menus for Ruth's Chris Steak House and The Capital Grille at $35. One of my favorites from the list in the $15 range would be Paxia Alta Cocina mexicana, though the menu is not yet listed (4/13/09). It looks like one of the better deals will be with Tavern on the Lake where your entree choices are Glazed Salmon or a 10 oz Filet Mignon for $25.

This year's Orlando Restaurant Week will run from May 1 - 7, 2009. Check on-line for the participating restaurants and preview the menus that they are offering.
