If you're looking for a fun filled evening that family members of all ages will enjoy, Disney's Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is the place to go...and since it's located at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, there is no additional park admission fee to pay. This show and dinner is so popular that many families make it a "must do" each time they visit Disney World. Since its inception in 1974, the show has entertained more than 9.5 million visitors.
The Show:
For more than 35 years Pioneer Hall, a replica of an Old West dance hall, has been home to the Pioneer Hall players, an ever-changing cast of singers, dancers and musicians with a bent toward the silly, the slapstick and the whimsical. The Wild West performers straight from the late 1800's era, entertain guests with a bucket-load of corny jokes and foot-stompin' folk songs. During the show, the crew of six players enthusiastically encourages audience members to play supporting roles in it's G-rated rollicking western/vaudeville style schtick.
The Meal:
The all-you-can-eat menu includes many family favorites that fit the western theme of the venue. Down-home "fixins" feature comfort foods such as fresh baked bread, tossed green salad, baked beans, homestyle fried chicken, smoked BBQ ribs and corn on the cob. The meal is topped off by a memorable act that involves the cast delivering strawberry shortcake. Also included with the price of the dinner buffet are a selection of assorted drinks--beer and sangria, iced tea, apple juice, milk, tea, coffee and selected soft drinks.
Reservations:
Since this is a very popular venue and many people book months in advance, reservations are required.
Seatings are at 5, 7:15, and 9:30 p.m. daily. Pricing for the show varies according to tiers based on location within the hall.
