The region's largest provider of funds for supporting the most critical
health and human service programs in Central Florida, Heart of Florida United
Way (HGUW) provides comprehensive health and human services charity to hundreds
of thousands of individuals each year. In 2011, it raised and managed
$27.3 million throughout the tri-county region of Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties

United Way 2-1-1 Crisis and Referral Helpline
Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide assistance and help to individuals that are dealing with unemployment, foreclosure, hunger and homelessness. Each year the program helps well over 100,000 residents, the majority being first time callers. The system also assists those needing counseling regarding suicides, substance abuse and other stressful mental health issues.
Providing emergency community assistance to those facing impending homelessness, hunger and other emergencies.

Looking ahead to the future by implementing programs in place that focus on seeking long-term solutions for preventing poverty, hunger, homelessness, juvenile crime, low graduation rates and many other issues. Statistics and research show that money spent on prevention, benefits the community sevenfold in the long run.

Since 1992, United Way's has presented the Orlando area with a premier fine
dining and wine paring charity event. As one of the main fundraising
events for the organization, The Chef's Gala is an unparalleled food and wine
experience. Since it's inception, the gala has been hosted and sponsored
by Walt Disney World and attracts over 1000 guests each year.

Opportunities for everyone can be found through United Way's Volunteer
Resource Center where 150 local nonprofit agencies in Orange, Seminole and
Osceola counties are matched with local volunteers. Whether you have
a few hours a week to spare or are only available for a one-time opportunity,
