Blizzard Beach at Walt Disney World

One of Disney's water parks, Blizzard Beach somewhat resembles a winter ski-resort. As with all Disney attractions, there is a story to explain the theme and Blizzard Beach is no exception. A ski resort was built after a freak winter storm dumped snow in Orlando. As the show melted, the property was left with an abundance of water and ski lifts, jumps and other such resort amenities after which the property was deemed better suited for a water play-land.
